Two Days of Photography Heaven

Two glorious days spent with like minded people in the company of two professional photographers. Yours truly and award winning National Geographic photographer Mick Ryan. Together we will bring along a wealth of photographic experience and the odd entertaining anecdote. We guarantee you will have a lot of fun and leave the class completely confident and ready to unleash your creativity.

The Weekender is a fabulous opportunity to learn how to get the best from your camera. You will learn how to love your camera in easy to follow modules, as well as discovering the secrets of good photographic composition…and much more.

About the Class

The Weekender Class is held at the Atlantic Tower Hotel in Liverpool City centre, close to the historic riverfront. The two day class is perfect for people beginning their photographic journey. No previous photographic knowledge is required and all you need is your DSLR or Mirrorless camera. Class begins at 10am at the hotel and finishes around 4.30pm. A light lunch is provided.

What you will Learn

Saturday:

Day 1 covers camera controls and is broken down into easy to follow sections beautifully explained with animated screens. During the Aperture and Shutter Speed modules you will get your first opportunity to practise your new skills by taking part in your own personal workshop, guided by myself and Mick. Throughout the day we will both be on hand to answer any questions you may have about your camera.

Sunday:

Day 2 covers composition where we will take a look at a presentation featuring fabulous photographs from around the world. The techniques used to produce each photo will be explained in great detail . All photographic styles are covered, from landscapes and nature shots to street photography and portraits. At the end of the tutorial we will venture outdoors where you will have the opportunity to try out your new compositional skills in the fabulous city of Liverpool. You will be given an assignment which you can complete on the day or at your leisure.

After running a successful fashion studio for several years I moved on to photograph the people and architecture of the great city of Liverpool as well as designing digital artwork that has gone on to sell worldwide. It truly is a fabulous feeling when somebody purchases your work to hang in their home.

I love to teach others and have been told my relaxed and friendly teaching style creates an ideal atmosphere to learn how to master the camera. Learning a new subject should be exciting and fun and my enthusiasm and passion for the subject ensures all my students learn to love photography as much as I have.

Mick and I will certainly guarantee a fun day!

I became a professional photographer after fighting and beating cancer and also enduring a second snapped cruciate ligament which ended my cricket career much too soon. Becoming a photographer was probably the best decision I have ever made.

Travel and nature have been passions of mine since my teenage years so it was a natural progression to turn to photography whilst pursuing my interests. I was delighted to reach the finals of two National Geographic Traveller Magazine competitions in the Travel Portfolio of the Year sections.

My travel photography has taken me to many exciting destinations of which Bethlehem, Marrakech and Puglia are amongst my favourite places to photograph.
